About Us

Over the years, individuals with autism have faced numerous challenges, including limited educational opportunities, societal stigma, difficulties in finding employment, social exclusion, a lack of understanding, and limited access to support and resources. Nonetheless, awareness has been raised, inclusivity has been promoted, and advocacy for the rights and well-being of individuals with autism has progressed. Despite the progress made, a significant gap remains in employability, earning a livelihood, and functioning in society to their full potential. It is crucial that we address this gap to ensure that individuals with autism and special needs can lead fulfilling and independent lives, support themselves, and participate fully in their communities.

Our Mission

Our purpose is to empower autistic

individuals to become independent

and productive members of the

society through vocational training,

counselling and advocacy.

Our VIsion

To establish a prestigious higher

education institution for individuals

with autism and other special needs

that will be globally recognized, with

certificates that hold value across

Africa.

Meet Our Founder, Shelila Ali-Rageh

Shelila Ali-Rageh is a proud mother of four children, two of whom are autistic. Her journey with autism began when her two wonderful autistic boys were diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in 2015. The challenges and joys of caring for her children have ignited a deep passion within her to make a positive impact in the autistic community in Africa.

This personal experience has driven her to pursue specialized training, becoming a Certified Autism Specialist and a Certified Specialist Needs Therapist. She obtained these credentials from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). Committed to ongoing learning and growth, Shelila is currently pursuing additional certifications and degree that will further equip her to support individuals with autism and their families.

In addition to her work in autism advocacy, Shelila is a successful entrepreneur, serving as the CEO of Touche Royale Events and Faux FramesNG. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos. The Hamdala Autism Foundation was born out of Shelila's desire to empower autistic individuals in Africa. Her vision is to create a society where they can become self-reliant, earn a sustainable living, and contribute meaningfully to their communities without solely relying on caregivers or family support.
